In recent years, living spaces have taken on a more important role, becoming places where functionality is combined with beauty and elegance. Whether it’s a bathroom or a terrace, people are trying to make their homes more comfortable indoors and out, to help them enjoy a few moments of relaxation.
Progress Profiles, world-leading manufacturer of technical and decorative finishing profiles and laying systems, continues to study and experiment cutting-edge, functional solutions using high-quality materials, for a contemporary style that makes every space safe and trendy.
Proshower Base L Pro
The walk-in shower, which combines functionality and design, is one of the most popular solutions to complete the bathroom. However, creating the right slope for the water to drain properly, avoiding leaks and ensuring a perfect, long-lasting installation can be time-consuming and complex work.
Among the 21 systems developed and patented by Progress Profiles, Proshower System is the ideal solution to make the shower a place of absolute comfort. Available in two versions, LINEAR or CENTRAL, the patented system is made up of several elements: one of them is Proshower Base L Pro, the newest shower channel with a 360° adjustable and easily inspectable drain, which has been presented at Cersaie 2022.
The new stainless steel channel is extremely versatile: available in different lengths, it’s complemented by three different stainless steel grids, suitable for every requirement. The double internal slope (lengthwise and widthwise) guarantees the correct water flow and, together with the possibility of inserting a hair trap, ensures a healthy bathroom environment.
Inside the body channel there are two support bases with different heights (those at the lower level are 6mm below the higher ones), making it possible to reach a 6mm higher level by simply rotating the grille 180°. In the system kit there are also finned feet with a total height of 17.5 and 27.5mm that allow the grid to be raised to a maximum height of 25mm.
Installation is therefore quick and easy, also thanks to the Profoil Pro waterproofing membrane: made of elasticised polyethylene, it ensures strong adhesion to the cladding, to the reduced thickness grid, and to the template available to the installers, guaranteeing a precisely laid cladding without errors.
Proshower Base L Pro is also available in the wall drainage basin version, so that it can be positioned in such a way as to ensure the water flow even in this context.
Prodeso Drain 5 System and Prodeso Drain 8 System
Another home decor trend confirmed for the next year is the use of large-format slabs, which are capable of enhancing the chromatic and material characteristics of the coatings, giving life to continuous surfaces with a strong visual impact. Suitable for any room in the house, they make indoor and outdoor boundaries blur, combining essential aesthetics with practicality. However, choosing the right flooring should not exclude a careful selection of the products for laying and a correct installation. This phase is in fact essential for a result that, both in the technical and aesthetic aspect, lasts for a long time.
At Cersaie 2022, Progress Profiles introduced the Prodeso Drain 8 System and Drain 5 System, two high-performance membranes designed specifically for the professional installation of large-format slabs, distinguished for the number of their layers, their thickness and their specific use for external or internal environments.
Prodeso Drain 8 System, 8mm thick and made up of 5 layers, is a patented waterproofing, draining, uncoupling membrane ideal for outdoor flooring. The reliefs of its polyethylene sheet create an air chamber below the pavement that drains the water, which infiltrates below it, helps a quick drying of the adhesive and reduces the rise of triacetates, preventing the appearance of efflorescence in the joints: for this reason, Prodeso Drain 8 can be installed also on not-perfectly cured screeds, making it suitable even for apparently more complicated renovations. The system is completed with a strip in polyethylene and elastic polypropylene and with a two-component waterproof adhesive to facilitate the work of the installers. Quick and easy to install, Prodeso Drain 8 makes it possible to work without interruptions and is completed with a set of accessories carefully designed for a perfect installation.
Prodeso Drain 5 System, with a thickness of only 5 mm and composed of 3 layers, ensures that the integrity of the indoor floors remains intact over time, even in case of cracked, concrete and moisture-sensitive substrates. It consists of a high-density polyethylene sheet, provided with a truncated pyramidal cavity with a semi-circular base, to which a draining polypropylene fabric is heat-sealed at the top. A polypropylene spunbond is glued on the underside of the membrane, which guarantees the bonding of the membrane to the support. The system is completed with a C2TS1 class cementitious adhesive for gluing.
What distinguishes these two systems is the ease and speed of installation and proper curing of the adhesive used for laying large-format tiles even on non-absorbent substrates thanks to the micro-ventilation guaranteed by the membranes.
Proterrace Double Drip
To assure the structures’ suitability for outdoor spaces and prevent serious damages to the surfaces constantly exposed to rainfalls and weather, Progress Profiles offers a wide range of perimeter profiles which also ensure the correct flow of rainwater.
The latest patented model of the Proterrace System range is Proterrace Double Drip. Combined with Prodeso Drain 8 System, this profile is the ideal solution to protect the terminal part of the tiles and the perimeter of terraces, balconies and verandas. That’s why it’s equipped with a vertical wall and a second vertical part, offering two drainage holes to allow the water to drain in case the sealant placed between the edge of the tile and the profile detaches. Made of varnished aluminum, Proterrace Double Drip can be requested with an embossed or semi-gloss finish and in different colours, from white to grey, from beige to dark brown or corten, in order to create continuity with the interior.
Prosupport Tube System
The focus on design is also reflected in outdoor spaces: whether it is a spacious veranda, a large terrace, a garden with a swimming pool, or even a small sunny balcony. How do we renovate these little oases of peace in a short time while maintaining full safety, without neglecting finishes and stylish details?
Among the many solutions offered by Progress Profiles, world leader manufacturer in the production of technical and decorative finishing profiles and laying systems, Prosupport Tube System can help to create floating floors quickly and easily, without demolishing or removing anything underneath. This eliminates costs caused by demolition, ensuring perfect, long-lasting results.
The modular system consists of a base, a ferrule, a screw, two heads and a set of tubes to achieve the desired height. The possibility to make a self-levelling or fixed laying simplifies the installation, making it practical and intuitive. If the screw is screwed in with the concave part facing upward, the head is self-levelling; turning the screw 180 degrees, the head is fixed.
The innovative system, which has a load-bearing capacity of 1300kg per piece and is suitable for all types of surfaces, is perfect to raise floating floors from 29 up to 1000mm high thanks to the adjustable elevation tubes, offering complete customisation.
On the other hand, the ideal solution for floating floors from 10 to 40mm high is Prosupport Slim System. It’s composed of two 10mm high bases, anti-noise and anti-slip discs, and 2mm thick levellers, allowing a height of 40mm without any further step.
To ensure the perfect stability and strength of floating floors Progress Profiles also offers the Prorail System. In combination with Prosupport Tube System and Prosupport Slim System, it allows the quick installation of ceramic, marble, wood, WPC or composite slabs of any size. It consists of two aluminium joists, Prorail or Prorail Ret, shaped or smooth respectively, the Prorail Ring joist fastening ring, two cross spacers with removable flaps (Prorail Spacer), and the anti-noise and anti-slip Prorail Rubber.
Proleveling System
Choosing resistant, quality materials is very important to get perfect floor and wall coverings, but only a professional installation made with state-of-the-art systems can ensure impeccable results in both aesthetics and durability.
Progress Profiles has developed and patented the revolutionary Proleveling System. Its transparent and perforated version makes it possible to keep the alignment of the tile joints under control, guaranteeing maximum precision and a workmanlike laying.
With just two elements, the system is practical and easy to use, as it does not require the use of pliers or other tools. The levelling base makes it possible to separate and join ceramic, marble, natural stone or low thickness floors, ensuring the absolute flatness of the floor and/or wall covering. Available in different thicknesses ranging from 1 to 5mm, it differs according to the desired joints and combinations, and allows the realisation of in-line or running laying without difficulty. The patented system also includes a transparent, perforated tie-rod which, inserted into the threaded stem of the levelling base, allows adjustments of the pressure on the surface and precise realignments of the joint lines of the tiles, guaranteeing perfect fixing.
At the end of the laying process, simply exert slight pressure on it or kick it in the direction of the joint to remove the tie rod, which is infinitely reusable unique for all heights and models.
Proleveling Wedge System
Progress Profiles also offers Proleveling Wedge System, an innovative levelling system ideal for any tile made up of 3 elements: leveller, wedge and pliers. Levellers are available for 1/1.5/2 and 3mm grout lines and suitable for 3-12-mm and 12-20mm thick tiles. The leveller’s innovative eye shape and the holes in its base make it easier to fit it under the tiles in addition to helping the glue penetrate through the holes, thereby reducing tile movement during pulling. The 90mm long and 22mm wide wedge is fitted into the leveller during laying and, thanks to fix pliers, flatness can be obtained between adjacent tiles. When the adhesive has hardened, it’s necessary to kick the wedges and the protruding part of the levellers along the grout line direction. The Proleveling Wedge System provides many advantages: the direct attachment of spacers onto the base, a greater adhesion surface between the adhesive and the tile, and a specific colour for each leveller, suitable for different grout lines and tile’s thickness.
